Welcome, welcome – here we are again. This is the second installment of quick recipes. Today we’ll be tackling candied nuts.
This technique can be used to candy basically any nut pecans (like I’m using here), walnuts, cashews, almonds, etc. It’s super quick and easy so there’s really no reason to ever buy candied nuts again. These go great on salad, as a sweet snack or for a gift around the holidays – either way the sweet and salty flavor is addicting.
Since these recipes are supposed to be quick lets dive right in!

Prep time: 5 mins Cook time: 60 mins
INGREDIENTS
- about 2 cups nut of your choice (200g)
- 4 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg white
- dash of cayenne (optional for a kick!)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 250 F or 120 C. While oven preheats whisk egg white in a bowl until frothy. Set aside. In another bowl combine and mix sugar, cinnamon, salt and cayenne (if using). Add nuts to egg white bowl and mix until coated. Once nuts are coated pour in sugar mixture and mix to coat.
2. Spread nuts in an even layer onto parchment or silicon lined baking sheet. Bake and stir every 15 mins. Continue to stir every 15 mins until nuts have baked for a total of 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool. Once cool store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
